Zargooran

Who is Zargooran?

Zargooran is a character of my own creation and one of the few that wasn't based on anything specific. He was a primary villain in my own personal long running storyline and started off as an ever evolving alien creature, the primary mind that ruled the Bloodclaws. At some point his physical form was destroyed, yet he returned once again, this time as a sort of dark entity. His form best described as space (the space is a sort of black with stars all around) trapped in a physical shape with two glowing eyes where the head is. This form can alter itself into many various creatures but all have the same space with eyes look. As of recently, I am now re-designing the character and hope to get a more effective look to him that makes him stand out better.

For years he remained a villain, but soon began to discover who he was suppose to be. Eventually he learned of his own kinds dark transformation because of a great evil and that his own destiny had changed. He had become a creature of evil instead of his destiny of being a savior. Upon discovering this, he turned from his path and now walks the long road of redemption. I somehow relate this to the life experiences I was having at the time and felt this character was too good to simply become another throw away villain, so instead gave him this redemption arc (and it is a choice I have felt has worked well ever since).

(will probably merge these two articles soon)

Zargooran Easter Special?

 Zargooran by SupaCrikeyDave

Zargooran is always evolving, both in personality and in design. Indeed, more recently I have been wanting to give him a more physical form (The current forms above are what I refer to as a 'Dark Entity' form which is more a physical representation of an Eldritch reflection of his essence). As such, he should have both his Dark Entity form and a more corporeal physical form.

This corporeal form idea started as a sort of cross between a rubbery, scale like skin and a liquid. It would start off based on the current design and shape, similar to the comic above as its appearance would be more acceptable to those around him. I imagine a sort of dark energy mist that surrounds his body lightly, with a strong amount around his lower body where the ground is. His movement would be very fluid and liquid like, unbound by his need for bones and being able to shape his body in any way he so desires.

His head would still have the multiple eyes thing, with two main ones open for normality, but having around six or eight in total. These could them merge to form one central eye (so think blobs of liquid that would collect in the middle of his head and forming one single blob). Can bend, twist and extend his body with ease and create what ever appendages needed. Things like arms with hands, claws, tendrils, tentacles, maws and eyes would be common options. While appearing like a liquid, dripping mess, his skin would feel more like on the lines of fresh dough covered in flour (so in other words, a dough like feel minus any stickiness). Obviously he could harden his skin when needed, but you get the idea. He has no primary mouth (seeing no point of it as he doesn't need one for speech nor does he need to eat/drink in the way like we do), Though I guess for the horror aspect I guess he could form a rather terrifying maw for the purposes of physical combat. For the most part, the more horrific aspects of his form would only be used for scenes of combat or when it would be appropriately needed.

Indeed, the larger monstrous horrors of Zargooran comes mostly in the forms of his creations as even some of the more simple ones are designed for purpose, not aesthetics (so in other words, he doesn't care how horrific looking it is, so long as it can do the job it was designed for). He tends to keep most of these things out of public viewing, tends to upset a lot of people and makes it difficult to keep trust with your allies when you tend to make nightmarish creatures.

I have also started reading some of H.P. Lovecraft's work and begun looking at various art based on such works for more inspiration and ideas.

Bloodclaws
An ever evolving xenomorphic race that was once noble and peaceful, but was corrupted and twisted over time by ancient dark beings. While I have written much about them, actual concept art is still way behind. More will come of them in the future.
