So, just finished both Crusader and Weaponsmith only to notice that their bases and all the other warband bases were different to the first model I did.......well shit. So as I wait for the wash layer to dry, I decided to show the list of planned members of the Warband.
1. Inquisitor - Finally finished the conversion - Just needs painting.
2. Arco-flagellant 1 - A Dark Eldar Ur-Ghul model with some conversion - Currently WiP.
2. Arco-flagellant 2 - Kroot warrion with some modifications - Jest needs Painting.
3. Crusader - Not sure what they call them now, but essentially a Space Dwarf - Completed.
4. Daemonhost - This isn't a Daemonhost but a warp-based xenos using Daemonhost rules - Still in design stage.
5 & 6. Death Cult Assassins - Dark Eldar Wyche models, based on a sort of lost Eldar world and the raising in their religion dedicated to the twin moon godessess - Both need painting.
7 & 8. Jokaero Weaponsmiths - Two means you always get something on their chart roll and it just seems nice to have two of them - One Complete, one not done.
9. Psyker - Again, another unknown xenos - Still in design stage.
10. Warrior Acolyte 1 - Genestealer Hybrid - Completed.
11. Warrior Acolyte 2 - Tau with some converion - WiP.
12. Warrior Acolyte 3 - Lizardman Sauris conversion - WiP.
So this is the list so far. I am open to adding more (an Inquisitor has different types depending on the circumstances of each mission) though I could easily create another Inquisitor or two and have a variety of strange minions. Who knows, there are all sorts of Xenos in the galaxy.

Where do I start?
So, since my last update I've been ill and my work hours have changed. I was to do an update on Supanova, but since my camera has had the shits, the pictures wasn't very good and I have to get some of my brother's pics from his own camera before I can do that update. So what else has happened.
Did get a practice game of 40k to see how the new rules work (been years since I last played). What gets me is the new melee and weapon rules. Negative armour modifiers work well in fantasy, but I feel the AP system in melee just makes things more confusing in 40k. Makes sense why my brother likes Tau.
Still working on models. Trying to get the Swordsmen unit done, but lately everything I try to paint seems to give me the shits. Doesn't help that I constantly have headaches too.
High Elves are coming. My first thought was 'Great, my Skaven couldn't beat them before, what hope do I have now', but I do like some of the new models with the Phoenix being a really nice model. I'm also glad they finally brought back the Everqueen and her Maiden Guard, bout time. Having finished reading the first book of the Tyrion and Teclis series, I'm expecting my brothers High Elves will be large enough to include both of them. Not sure what I could add to my Skaven force to stop them.
Recently started watching vids from a guy called Markiplier. Nice collection of scary games, along with a few silly ones thrown in.
Also, in a recent Vlog by AngryJoe he mentions a few things that kind of worry me about the state of games. The lackluster performance of these gaming companies to produce a polished game that works and their inability to respond to customer complaints (by ether ignoring or downplaying them) is just not acceptable. I'm also worried that we may not get accurate reviews of games before we purchase them, meaning they will take your money before you find out if it was worth the purchase or not. Perhaps it's just because I have not seen one game released so far that has had me so pumped playing it, but I fear it will continue and will see more disappointment as the year continues.
We'll see....

Hotshot Coversion
Halfway through the Tau conversion for the warband. While it may take longer for the head conversion ( to finish the waiting on parts), the only thing left to do on it really is the Hotshot Lasgun conversion.
As you can see, it's almost finished. The Lasgun is just a Tau rifle with the head of a Dark Eldar weapon from left over Talos parts.
Nothing much will happen over the weekend due to Supanova being on, though expect pics on that soon.

Grey Wizard plus more..
Alright, so I uploaded the Grey Wizard up to deviantart before putting up pics here......was in a hurry and just forgot. So here he is:
Overall, the smoke/mist/fog effect turned out better then I had expected. Not sure if I'll convert wizards from the other four lores, but I will do a Celestial Wizard lord on a Pegasus, mostly because I just want too.
Speaking of conversions, I've been doing some extensive research on female Tau, mostly on what their bodies and faces look like. The reason is that I'm converting one for my Inquisitor Warband. This is a serious piece, so nothing like the so-called fan service based blue chicks. Given the lack of description and only two picks, I will assume the 'Y' feature on the face of Commander Shadowsun is reflective of all Female Tau. Some may say the dissection picture of a female Ethereal has a different face, but it was pointed out that the Ethereal caste have a different facial structure, so I'm sticking with Shadowsun's look. As for the chest, there is much debate so instead I'll just use Tau armour with some conversions to look more for the Inquisitor group.
Shadowsun costs $61, a bit pricy for just a head. However I did find a guide on converting a female Tau head from the plastic Daemonette heads, so this does look like a much cheaper option.
Also, looking forward to Supanova this weekend, so hoping that this years Gold Coast one will be better then last years (very cramped it was).

Late Because...
Things have been hecktic and didn't get time to upload the Grey Wizard before I had to go off. That said, I should have it uploaded some time today.
Did see Ross Noble live at the Gold Coast Arts Centre. He was brilliant, laugh so hard that I had an Asthma attack. Had to hide that fact as it would have been embarrassing ending such a good night in the back of an ambulance. Ross is a comedy genius and if he ever tours your area, go and see him.

Quick up-date thingy
Try to keep it short as I try to rush through another game I'm trying to finish from the Hall of Shame (games you own but never finished).
Grey Wizard - Just needs an edge highlight on front robe and he's done. Will probably upload photos of him today.
Warband - Unhappy with how the current painted models look, but since they're givin me the shits, just going to finish up the two that are just about done and then start on the others.
Inquisitor - Don't think the green stuff has blended in to well, but am going to go ahead and paint him anyway.
Also started on another model to add to that Empire Challenge, a Helstorm Rocket Battery (Pistoliers will have to wait until I get the focus to use green stuff again).

Jade Wizard
Almost done, but I forgot to do the base and fix the face before I took the photos...oops. Worse, I haven't got a name for him yet (or if I do, then I can't find where I wrote it down). Still, this is what I have.
Overall, I am happy with the way this model has turned out. The owl is based on a picture of a long-eared owl I found on the net.
I admit the colour dots aren't the best, but I just couldn't get the thickness right. Then there's the base.
The base is dirt and rock, with grass patches. The difference with this base compared to the other Empire ones is the small stream. I did plan to use salt for the rushing/bubbling part, but unfortunately I had none but did have some Bi-Carb Soda..........Ah Bi-Carb, is there nothing you can't do.
As for the Grey Wizard? Well, with the smoke/mist/fog/whatever given a base coat of grey, it needs to be given a few lighter layers where as the main focus of the wizard will be his staff and sword.

Wizardly Push
Arrrgghh......so close.
So the Jade Wizard is just about completed and I'm getting close with the Grey Wizard too. I've been holding off on uploading pics until the Jade is completed, which (hopefully) will be tomorrow. Not happy with the Crusaders paint job, but given I've lost interest in it, that too should be finished soon. Perhaps with the Wizards finished I will return my focus on the Warband.
