So, since my last update I've been ill and my work hours have changed. I was to do an update on Supanova, but since my camera has had the shits, the pictures wasn't very good and I have to get some of my brother's pics from his own camera before I can do that update. So what else has happened.
Did get a practice game of 40k to see how the new rules work (been years since I last played). What gets me is the new melee and weapon rules. Negative armour modifiers work well in fantasy, but I feel the AP system in melee just makes things more confusing in 40k. Makes sense why my brother likes Tau.
Still working on models. Trying to get the Swordsmen unit done, but lately everything I try to paint seems to give me the shits. Doesn't help that I constantly have headaches too.
High Elves are coming. My first thought was 'Great, my Skaven couldn't beat them before, what hope do I have now', but I do like some of the new models with the Phoenix being a really nice model. I'm also glad they finally brought back the Everqueen and her Maiden Guard, bout time. Having finished reading the first book of the Tyrion and Teclis series, I'm expecting my brothers High Elves will be large enough to include both of them. Not sure what I could add to my Skaven force to stop them.
Recently started watching vids from a guy called Markiplier. Nice collection of scary games, along with a few silly ones thrown in.
Also, in a recent Vlog by AngryJoe he mentions a few things that kind of worry me about the state of games. The lackluster performance of these gaming companies to produce a polished game that works and their inability to respond to customer complaints (by ether ignoring or downplaying them) is just not acceptable. I'm also worried that we may not get accurate reviews of games before we purchase them, meaning they will take your money before you find out if it was worth the purchase or not. Perhaps it's just because I have not seen one game released so far that has had me so pumped playing it, but I fear it will continue and will see more disappointment as the year continues.
We'll see....
